Made around the opening

A tailored finish,
down to the slat.

The material affects how the blind looks, feels and suits the room. We also check slat width, the space needed when raised and where the controls will be easiest to reach.

Choose the material

Practical faux wood.
Authentic natural grain.

These are our two principal Venetian collections. Faux wood prioritises durability and moisture resistance; natural timber prioritises warmth and individuality. A slimmer aluminium range is available where the room calls for it.

Natural wood

Real wood brings warmth, individuality and natural grain to the window. Painted tones, stains, printed grains, bamboo and a contemporary gloss option create a more furniture-like finish.

Slimmer lines.
Sharper control.

Aluminium Venetians are a lighter, more streamlined alternative to the timber-look ranges. Their crisp slats suit contemporary interiors, practical workspaces and windows where a finer proportion feels more appropriate.

Slats, tapes and finishing details

Small choices.
A different character.

Slat scale changes how the blind feels at the window. Decorative tapes can be tonal and quiet or intentionally contrasting, adding a softer, more furniture-like rhythm.

  • 35mm for a finer, more detailed proportion
  • 50mm for a calmer look and a wider view when tilted

Manual or motorised

Tilt the light
with less effort.

Manual controls are simple and dependable. For harder-to-reach windows or a cleaner connected-home routine, selected Venetian configurations can be motorised.

01

Manual control

Raise, lower and tilt the blind using the control arrangement agreed for the window.

02

Motorised tilt

Available on selected faux-wood and natural-wood blinds, with battery or mains options depending on specification.

03

Tilt & lift

Selected natural-wood configurations can add motorised lifting as well as tilt, subject to size and system limits.

Motor compatibility, power supply and operating limits are confirmed after survey. Faux-wood motorisation is tilt-only in the supplied Sunwood specification.

  • Studies and living spaces
  • Rooms needing adjustable privacy
We’ll help you choose
Material

Faux wood is our most popular practical choice; natural wood brings authentic grain and warmth; aluminium gives a slimmer, lightweight contemporary finish.

Slat proportion

Choose 35mm for a finer rhythm or 50mm for a calmer, more open view. Window scale, depth and blind weight all influence the recommendation.

Colour and grain

Browse the full supplied range online, then confirm the colour against a physical sample in the room before ordering.

Tapes and controls

Coordinate or contrast the decorative tapes, then agree the control side and whether manual or selected motorised operation is appropriate.

Good to know
  • Venetian blinds provide excellent adjustable privacy but are not a sealed blackout product.
  • Natural wood has genuine grain and shade variation and is not recommended for high-moisture bathrooms or wetrooms.
  • Faux wood is more moisture resistant, but good room ventilation and sensible care remain important.
  • Aluminium is available in fine 16mm and 25mm slats as well as selected wider 35mm and 50mm collections; exact finishes and limits vary by system.
  • The supplied maximum sizes are up to 2600mm wide for faux wood and 2400mm wide for natural wood; final limits depend on drop, control and configuration.

Explore all questions & answers
02Do you supply aluminium Venetian blinds?

Yes. We supply aluminium Venetians in slimmer 16mm and 25mm slats, with selected 35mm and 50mm options also available. They offer a crisp, lightweight alternative to faux wood and natural timber, with matt, gloss, metallic and selected perforated finishes depending on the collection.

Find this answer in the FAQ hub
03Can I see all the Venetian blind colours online?

Yes. The finish explorer on this page shows the supplied faux-wood and natural-wood finishes as both a selectable colour and a complete blind. Screens reproduce colour differently, so the final choice should still be confirmed against a current physical sample.

Find this answer in the FAQ hub
04What is the difference between 35mm and 50mm slats?

A 35mm slat creates a finer, more detailed rhythm. A 50mm slat feels calmer and can reveal more of the view when tilted open. We consider the scale and depth of the window before recommending one.

Find this answer in the FAQ hub
05Can faux-wood Venetian blinds be fitted in bathrooms?

Faux wood is moisture resistant and generally the better timber-look choice for bathrooms, kitchens and wetrooms. The room should still be well ventilated, and we will assess the window and likely moisture exposure before confirming suitability.

Find this answer in the FAQ hub
06Can natural-wood Venetian blinds be fitted in bathrooms?

Natural timber is not normally recommended for high-moisture bathrooms or wetrooms because changing humidity can affect the material. Faux wood or aluminium is generally the safer choice in those rooms.

Find this answer in the FAQ hub
07Do Venetian blinds provide blackout?

No. Closing the slats reduces light and improves privacy, but light can remain around the blind, through cord routes and between slats. For stronger room darkening, we can compare blackout rollers, cellular blinds or layered treatments.

Find this answer in the FAQ hub
08Can Venetian blinds be motorised?

Selected faux-wood blinds can be motorised for tilt. Natural-wood ranges have selected tilt-only and tilt-and-lift systems. Availability depends on blind size, slat choice, tapes, power supply and the required control system.

Find this answer in the FAQ hub
09Are decorative tapes available?

Yes. The supplied wood and faux-wood collections include 24 tape colours across herringbone and flatweave styles. Width and compatibility depend on the selected slat size and material.
