01Should I choose curtains or Roman blinds?+
Curtains sit alongside the window and need room for the fabric to stack. Roman blinds fold above the glass and can suit a more compact treatment. Compare the available wall space, window opening, fabric and lining; either can be layered with another suitable treatment. We check the practical details at survey.
Compare Roman blind options →02Are motorised blinds worth the investment?+
They can make daily use easier when windows are high, several blinds are operated together, or manual controls are awkward. A compatible remote can be enough; app control is optional. The additional cost depends on the motor, blind size, power, controls and any wiring. Ask for manual and motorised alternatives in your quotation.
Understand motorised options →03What should I consider for very large windows?+
Look at the full span and drop, fabric weight, system limits, fixing surface and access to doors. A single treatment may be possible, or several blinds may give a more manageable result. We compare suitable rollers, vertical blinds, Allusion and curtains against the actual opening.
Find options for your window →04Why choose a local blind manufacturer?+
Our roller blinds are made at our Baldoyle premises, so the showroom, survey, production and installation teams can discuss the same order directly. You can compare physical samples and contact our local office for aftercare. Selected products are supplied through specialist manufacturers; we explain which approach applies before you order.
See our manufacturing and service →05What is the difference between blackout, light-filtering and sunscreen blinds?+
Light-filtering fabric softens daylight. Blackout fabric is opaque, although light can still enter around the edges. Sunscreen fabric helps reduce glare while retaining a daytime view, but provides less privacy after dark. We assess the fabric and fitting together.
Compare light and privacy options →06How can I ask about an existing order?+
Use our contact form and select Existing order. Include your order reference if you have it and tell us what you need help with. You can also call 01 839 5319 or email info@baldoyleblinds.com.
Ask about an existing order →07Is the home consultation free?+
Yes. Our home consultation is free and there is no obligation to order. We use the visit to understand your room, measure your windows, show relevant samples and talk through the options that suit your priorities and budget.
08What happens during a home consultation?+
A Baldoyle Blinds surveyor visits your home, discusses what you need from the room, checks the windows and takes accurate measurements. We bring suitable fabric, colour and finish samples so you can see them in your own light before receiving a clear quotation.
09Do I need to know which product I want before booking?+
Not at all. Privacy, blackout, insulation, style and ease of use can point towards different products. Tell us what matters to you and our surveyor will narrow the choice to the best-fitting options.
10Can I visit your showroom instead?+
Absolutely. Our showroom is at 17A Baldoyle Industrial Estate, Dublin 13, D13 V2X2. It is open 09:00–17:00 Monday to Friday and 10:00–14:00 on Saturdays, and is closed on bank holiday Saturdays and Mondays. You can see working displays, compare fabrics and finishes, and speak to our specialist team before arranging a survey.
11Which areas do you cover?+
Our regular home consultation and installation area covers Dublin, Louth, Meath, Kildare and Wicklow. For larger residential orders and commercial projects, we may be able to travel farther. Call 01 839 5319 or send a WhatsApp message with the project location and scope, and our team will confirm.
12How much do made-to-measure blinds cost in Dublin?+
The price depends on the product, measurements, fabric or material, controls and any specialist fitting requirements. Because every window is different, we quote after surveying and measuring. We can show alternatives at different price points during the visit.
13How long will my order take?+
Lead times vary by product, material, order size and the time of year. Our admin and production teams monitor every order and will give you the current estimated timeframe when you order, then keep the process moving through manufacture and installation.
14Who measures and installs everything?+
Our own process is supported by a 20+ person team, with specialists for the initial call, in-home survey, order administration, production, installation and aftercare. That gives you one accountable local company from first conversation to final fitting.
15Are your blinds manufactured in Dublin?+
Many of our made-to-measure blinds are produced in our Baldoyle facility, giving us close control over quality and timing. We also work with established specialist suppliers for selected products and materials, including shutters, roof-window systems and designer fabrics.
16Do you remove my existing window coverings?+
Removal requirements can vary by project. Please mention existing blinds, curtains or shutters when booking so the surveyor can inspect them and include the appropriate plan in your quotation.
17How can I pay for my order?+
You can pay by cash or card in our Baldoyle showroom, by card over the phone, through a personalised secure Square invoice or payment link, or by electronic funds transfer (EFT). Bank details can be requested directly from our office and should be verified with our team before payment, particularly if you receive any message suggesting that our bank details have changed. Our installation teams do not accept payments on the road, so any balance due before installation must be paid directly to the office in advance.
Read the full payment terms →18Are Square payment links secure?+
Secure online payments are powered by Square, with card, Apple Pay and Google Pay available where supported. When we send a personalised Square invoice or payment link, payment details are entered through Square’s service rather than the Baldoyle Blinds website. Check that the invoice shows the correct Baldoyle Blinds details, order reference and amount before paying. If anything appears incorrect, stop and contact our office on 01 839 5319.
Read the full payment terms →19When are the deposit and remaining balance due?+
Unless we agree otherwise in writing, an order scheduled for installation within two weeks requires full payment when confirmed. For an installation scheduled more than two weeks after confirmation, the usual arrangement is a 50% deposit with the remaining 50% paid before installation.
Read the full payment terms →20Can I change or cancel a made-to-measure order?+
Please contact us in writing as soon as possible. We will consider a change or cancellation if production and purchasing have not begun. Once bespoke products have entered production, changes may not be possible and agreed costs may remain payable. Ordering a standard item from a supplier does not automatically remove your cancellation rights. This does not affect statutory rights where goods are faulty or another legal remedy applies.
Read the cancellation and amendment terms →21What happens if I provide my own measurements?+
Measurements supplied by a customer, builder, architect, designer or contractor are provided at the customer’s responsibility. Our free home consultation is the safest option when you would like Baldoyle Blinds to survey, manufacture and install the order using measurements taken by our team.
Read the full measurement terms →22How should I prepare for installation?+
The fitting area should be reasonably accessible, with furniture, valuables and fragile items moved or protected. Please tell us about concealed services, unusual wall construction, restricted access or anything else that could affect safe fitting before installation.
Read the site-condition terms →23How quickly should I report an issue?+
Please inspect the products after delivery or installation and contact us promptly with your order details, a description and photographs where helpful. We ask that visible issues are reported within seven days so they can be investigated quickly; that requested timeframe does not limit your statutory rights.
Read the inspection and reporting terms →24Is removal or disposal of my old blinds included?+
Removal or disposal of existing window coverings is only included where it is stated in the quotation or order confirmation. Mention anything that needs to be removed during the survey so it can be inspected and allowed for properly.
Read the removal and disposal terms →25Are manufacturing and installation dates guaranteed?+
Dates are estimates unless a particular date is expressly guaranteed in writing. We make reasonable efforts to keep orders moving and communicate significant delays, but supplier availability, transport disruption and other circumstances outside our reasonable control can affect timing.
Read the lead-time terms →26What should I check before approving my order?+
Please check the product, quantity, fabric, colour, finish, controls, measurements, fitting location and any accessories carefully. Once the order is approved and submitted for manufacture or purchasing, changes may not be possible and any agreed change may affect both price and lead time.
Read the order-confirmation terms →27Will the finished fabric or colour look exactly like the sample or screen image?+
Samples and photographs are useful guides, but lighting, surrounding décor, screen settings and manufacturing batches can affect appearance. Textiles and timber can also have reasonable natural variation in weave, grain, texture, drape and colour.
Read the product-appearance terms →28Can a quotation change before I place the order?+
A quotation is based on the information, dimensions and specification available when it is prepared. It may need to be revised if those details change or, before acceptance, if relevant supplier or material costs change. An order is accepted when Baldoyle Blinds confirms it and receives the required payment.
Read the quotation terms →29What happens if nobody can provide access for the fitting appointment?+
A responsible adult should provide access at the agreed time unless another arrangement has been confirmed. If access is unavailable or the area is not ready, the visit may need to be rescheduled and a reasonable communicated additional charge may apply.
Read the appointment and access terms →30Who is responsible for power and Wi-Fi for motorised blinds?+
A qualified electrician must provide and connect mains supplies for hardwired motors. Battery life, radio, Wi-Fi, apps and smart-home services depend on use, signal, the home network and third-party platforms. We install and programme the window furnishing and explain what must be ready for commissioning.
Read the motorised-product terms →31Can finished products be stored if my room is not ready?+
Contact us as early as possible if installation must be postponed. Alternative arrangements may be agreed, although reasonable communicated charges may apply where substantial storage, repeated delivery attempts or repeated appointments result from customer delay.
Read the storage terms →32How should I clean and maintain my blinds or curtains?+
Follow the care instructions supplied for the specific product and avoid excessive force, unsuitable cleaning products, excessive moisture or unauthorised alterations. Because materials differ, ask us before using a cleaning method if you are unsure.
Read the care and maintenance terms →33Will photographs of my home be used online?+
We will not use photographs of a customer’s property for advertising, social media or promotion without permission where permission is required. You may decline without affecting your order.
Read the photograph terms →34How do I make a complaint or request a remedy?+
Contact us promptly with your name, order details and a clear description of the concern. Photographs, video or access for inspection may be requested. We must be given a reasonable opportunity to investigate and, where appropriate, provide the remedy available under Irish consumer law.
Read the complaints terms →35What products do you supply?+
Our range includes roller, vertical, Venetian, Roman, Allusion, double roller, cellular, VELUX and Perfect Fit blinds, as well as made-to-measure curtains, voile and sheer curtains, plantation shutters and motorised solutions.
36Which blinds are best for blackout?+
Blackout roller, cellular and suitable VELUX blinds are common starting points, but the fabric alone is only part of the result. Window shape, fitting method and light gaps matter too, so we assess the room and explain the most effective realistic option during the survey.
37What is best for large windows or sliding doors?+
Vertical and Allusion blinds work especially well across wide glazing, while curtains and some motorised systems can also be excellent choices. The best answer depends on how the doors open, furniture placement, privacy and the look you want.
38Can you help with unusual window shapes?+
Yes. We regularly assess bay windows, roof windows, doors and other less straightforward openings. Some products are better suited to particular shapes, so an accurate survey is the best way to identify a neat and practical solution.
39Do you supply blinds for VELUX roof windows?+
Yes. We supply and install a range of suitable roof-window blinds, including blackout and light-filtering options, with manual, solar or electric operation available for compatible windows.
40Can my blinds or curtains be motorised?+
Many roller, Roman, cellular, curtain and other systems can be motorised. Depending on the product and window, control may be battery powered, solar powered or hardwired, with handset, wall control, app or compatible smart-home options.
41Do I need an electrician for motorised blinds?+
Battery and some solar options usually avoid mains wiring. For a hardwired system, a qualified electrician must provide and connect the electrical supply. We can explain the requirements, then install, programme and test the window covering once the power is ready.
42Are your blinds child safe?+
Child safety is considered when we recommend and install every product. We use appropriate safety devices and can suggest cordless or motorised controls where suitable. Our team will also explain the safe operation of your chosen system at fitting.
43What warranty do I receive?+
Warranty cover varies by product, component and manufacturer. We will confirm the applicable cover with your quotation or order paperwork, and our local aftercare team remains your first point of contact if anything needs attention.
44What if I need help after installation?+
Contact Baldoyle Blinds directly. Our dedicated aftercare team can review the issue, guide you through simple checks or arrange the appropriate next step. You can include your order reference and describe the issue in our contact form.
Contact our aftercare team →45Can you re-cover or repair an existing roller blind?+
Yes. If the roller, mechanism and brackets are still suitable, our Baldoyle production team may be able to replace the fabric and return the blind ready to fit back into its existing brackets. We can also assess selected roller blinds for resizing, damaged-end refinishing and component replacement. This is a showroom drop-off service, primarily for roller blinds and particularly those originally manufactured by Baldoyle Blinds. Every blind is inspected before we confirm what is possible.
Ask about a repair →46Do you handle commercial projects?+
Yes. We survey, manufacture, coordinate and install window treatments for offices, schools, hotels, healthcare settings and multi-unit developments. Our commercial team can work with contractors, designers and facilities teams from specification through handover.
47Do plantation shutters provide blackout?+
Standard shutters are not total blackout: light can enter around louvres, panels and frames. Madison offers an integrated cellular-blind option for enhanced light reduction. We’ll explain the likely result for your window before you choose.
View the Plantation shutters guide →48Which shutter material is best for bathrooms?+
Hampton and Nevada HS Polyvinyl faux wood are options for moisture-prone rooms. We check ventilation, splash exposure and the window position before recommending a material; hardwood is not interchangeable with faux wood in these conditions.
View the Plantation shutters guide →49Can shutters be fitted to bay or shaped windows?+
Many bays, arches and angled windows can be accommodated. We measure the opening and check handles, frame depth and panel clearance. Shaped, solid and tracked options depend on the selected range; the explorer shows ideas to discuss, not a confirmed specification.
View the Plantation shutters guide →50Can I still open my windows and patio doors?+
We plan the shutter layout around handles, hinges and opening directions. Wide glazed doors may suit a tracked system, but panel stacking space, thresholds and everyday access need to be checked at survey.
View the Plantation shutters guide →51How long will my shutters take?+
Lead times vary by range, finish and configuration. We confirm the current estimated delivery and fitting schedule with your quotation, before you place an order.
View the Plantation shutters guide →52What happens after fitting?+
Our team explains operation and care for your chosen material. Contact us if you need help afterwards. Warranty terms depend on the range, finish and components and are confirmed before ordering; any manufacturer’s warranty is additional to your statutory rights.
View the Plantation shutters guide →53Are Allusion blinds suitable for patio doors?+
Yes. They are designed particularly well for wide glazing and frequently used doors, combining a softer appearance with access between the vanes.
View the Allusion blinds guide →54Do Allusion blinds give privacy at night?+
Turning the opaque vanes closed increases privacy. As with all sheer fabrics, privacy is reduced when the vanes are open and the room is brighter inside than outside.
View the Allusion blinds guide →55Do they provide blackout?+
No. Closed vanes reduce light, but the construction includes gaps and sheer sections, so Allusion blinds should not be chosen as a total-blackout product.
View the Allusion blinds guide →56Do I need to draw the blind to use the door?+
Usually not. You can pass carefully between the fabric vanes, which makes the system convenient for regular patio-door access.
View the Allusion blinds guide →57How are Allusion blinds cleaned?+
Regular gentle dusting or light vacuuming with an upholstery attachment is normally best. We provide care advice for the selected fabric.
View the Allusion blinds guide →58What is the difference between pleated and cellular blinds?+
Pleated fabric forms one crisp 20mm fold, giving a light decorative appearance. Softcell uses a 25mm honeycomb construction with enclosed cells that trap still air and provide enhanced insulation at the window.
View the Pleated & cellular blinds guide →59Do cellular blinds help with insulation?+
The honeycomb pockets hold a layer of still air close to the glazing and can help reduce heat transfer. The overall improvement depends on the fabric, system, fit, window and how consistently the blind is used.
View the Pleated & cellular blinds guide →60Are blockout cellular blinds completely blackout?+
No. A blockout fabric prevents light passing through the material, but light can remain around the sides, rails or other system gaps. We explain the realistic result for the actual opening before you choose.
View the Pleated & cellular blinds guide →61How does top-down, bottom-up control work?+
The fabric can be positioned within the window rather than only raised from the bottom. This is particularly useful for street-facing rooms because the lower glass can remain covered while daylight enters above.
View the Pleated & cellular blinds guide →62What is a day-and-night cellular blind?+
It combines two fabrics in one system. A popular approach is an Artezen voile for softened daylight and a second dimout or blockout Softcell fabric for stronger privacy and light reduction.
View the Pleated & cellular blinds guide →63Are pleated or cellular blinds suitable for bathrooms?+
The water-resistant Tribeca Softcell collection is designed for higher-moisture areas such as kitchens and bathrooms. Ventilation, splash exposure, the system and the particular window are still assessed before we confirm suitability.
View the Pleated & cellular blinds guide →64Can these blinds be fitted without drilling into the wall?+
Perfect Fit and compatible framed systems can attach to suitable glazed units without drilling the surrounding wall. Compatibility depends on the bead depth, seals, handles and the window or door construction.
View the Pleated & cellular blinds guide →65Can pleated and cellular blinds be motorised?+
Selected systems can be motorised with compatible Cruze or Somfy equipment. Blind size, fabric, system type, power supply and preferred controls all affect the final specification.
View the Pleated & cellular blinds guide →66Do you bring curtain fabrics to my home?+
Yes. We select relevant samples before the consultation so you can compare colour, texture and pattern in the room’s actual light.
View the Curtains & sheers guide →67Can curtains be blackout lined?+
Many suitable curtain fabrics can be paired with a room-darkening lining. The final result also depends on the heading, returns and how the track is positioned.
View the Curtains & sheers guide →68Do you supply and fit tracks and poles?+
Yes. We measure and specify the supporting track or pole as part of the complete made-to-measure treatment, then professionally install and dress the curtains.
View the Curtains & sheers guide →69Can curtain tracks be motorised?+
Compatible tracks can be motorised for wide glazing, hard-to-reach spaces or everyday convenience. We coordinate the track, power and control approach.
View the Curtains & sheers guide →70How long do made-to-measure curtains take?+
Lead time varies with fabric availability, heading, lining and track specification. We confirm the current estimate with your quotation rather than promising a generic timeframe.
View the Curtains & sheers guide →71How do double roller blinds work?+
Two separate fabric blinds share one coordinated fitting. Each operates independently, so you can use the daytime layer, nighttime layer or raise both.
View the Double roller blinds guide →72Are double roller blinds completely blackout?+
The blackout layer is opaque, but some light can remain at the sides or top depending on the window and fitting position. We explain the expected result during your survey.
View the Double roller blinds guide →73Can both blinds be motorised?+
Compatible double roller systems can be motorised. The exact motor, power and control arrangement depends on the width, fabric and available fitting space.
View the Double roller blinds guide →74Do they fit inside a window recess?+
Often, yes, provided the recess has enough clear depth for two rolls and does not obstruct handles or window operation. We measure this in person.
View the Double roller blinds guide →75How do I clean the fabrics?+
Light dusting or gentle vacuuming is usually suitable. Care varies by fabric, so we provide guidance for both selected materials.
View the Double roller blinds guide →76Do motorised blinds need to be wired?+
Not always. Rechargeable Somfy WireFree motors avoid new mains wiring and suit many finished rooms. Larger, frequently used or project-specified blinds may be better hardwired.
View the Motorised & smart home guide →77Can I use the blinds without Wi-Fi?+
Yes. Compatible handheld remotes and wall controls operate the blinds directly. Wi-Fi is used for app control, remote access, schedules and some smart-home functions.
View the Motorised & smart home guide →78What can TaHoma control?+
TaHoma can centralise compatible Somfy blinds, curtains and other connected home equipment. You can operate products individually or in groups and create timed or triggered scenes.
View the Motorised & smart home guide →79Can the system work with voice assistants?+
TaHoma supports Alexa and Google Assistant with compatible equipment. Apple HomeKit works with selected approved io-homecontrol devices only, and does not support RTS devices. We confirm the exact model and regional compatibility before ordering.
View the Motorised & smart home guide →80Can my existing blinds be motorised?+
Sometimes, particularly roller blinds, but it depends on the tube, brackets, dimensions and condition. We inspect the product and advise whether conversion or replacement is more reliable.
View the Motorised & smart home guide →81Do Perfect Fit blinds require drilling?+
The framed system clips into suitable beaded glazing, so it normally avoids drilling into walls, tiles or the main window frame.
View the Perfect Fit blinds guide →82Will the blind move with my window or door?+
Yes. On a compatible opening, the framed blind remains attached to the glazed panel as it opens, tilts or closes.
View the Perfect Fit blinds guide →83Can Perfect Fit be used on any window?+
No. Bead depth, seals, handle clearance and window profile all affect compatibility. Our surveyor checks these details in person.
View the Perfect Fit blinds guide →84Which blind types are available?+
Depending on the compatible system, roller, pleated and cellular fabrics, aluminium Venetian, Sunwood and Shutter Lite options may be available. We will show the appropriate choices for your glazing.
View the Perfect Fit blinds guide →85What frame colours are available?+
Representative finishes include white, beige, brown, Golden Oak, mahogany, anthracite and black. The exact frame and component colours available depend on the selected blind system.
View the Perfect Fit blinds guide →86Are Perfect Fit blinds suitable for glazed doors?+
They can work very well on compatible glazed doors because the blind moves with the panel. We still need to check handles, seals and clearance.
View the Perfect Fit blinds guide →87Are roller blinds suitable for bathrooms?+
Many practical and moisture-suitable fabrics are available. We will check ventilation, window position and the chosen fabric before recommending an option.
View the Roller blinds guide →88Does blackout fabric make a room completely dark?+
Blackout fabric is opaque, but a conventional roller blind can still allow light around the sides and top. We will explain the likely result and any more enclosed system options during the survey.
View the Roller blinds guide →89Can I use the same colour in living spaces and bedrooms?+
Yes. The popular Splash dimout and Bella blockout ranges share the same colourways, so you can keep a coordinated look while choosing different performance for each room.
View the Roller blinds guide →90Can roller blinds be motorised?+
Yes. We offer compatible rechargeable battery and hardwired mains-powered options using Somfy Sonesse RTS or Zigbee. With a TaHoma switch, suitable blinds can also be controlled from your phone, included in scenes and connected with Alexa or Google Home.
View the Roller blinds guide →91How quickly can you make roller blinds?+
Manufacturing time depends on the chosen fabric and current workload. Fitting is scheduled separately. We confirm the current estimates with your quotation before you order.
View the Roller blinds guide →92What guarantee do roller blinds have?+
Guarantee terms depend on the product and components and are confirmed with your quotation. Any commercial guarantee is additional to your statutory rights. We can also assess repairs to suitable blinds outside warranty.
View the Roller blinds guide →93Can you fit roller blinds to very wide windows?+
Often, yes. Suitable wide-width fabrics and stronger hardware are available, though the final specification depends on the surveyed width, drop and fabric.
View the Roller blinds guide →94Can an existing roller blind be recovered?+
In many cases we can replace the fabric on a suitable existing roller blind, especially one originally made by us. The blind must be dropped to our Baldoyle showroom so the production team can inspect it first.
View the Roller blinds guide →95Can Roman blinds have blackout lining?+
Yes, many suitable fabrics can be paired with a room-darkening lining. Some light can still enter around the outer edges of the blind.
View the Roman blinds guide →96Can Roman blinds be motorised?+
Compatible Roman blind systems can be motorised. We will check the proposed size, fabric and power approach before recommending the specification.
View the Roman blinds guide →97Can the fabric coordinate with my curtains?+
Yes. Using the same or complementary collection across Roman blinds and curtains can create a coherent layered scheme.
View the Roman blinds guide →98How are Roman blinds cleaned?+
Care varies by fabric and lining. Most should be lightly maintained in place and professionally cleaned if necessary rather than machine washed. We provide fabric-specific guidance.
View the Roman blinds guide →99Are Roman blinds suitable for very wide windows?+
They can suit many generous windows, but fabric weight and system limits matter. We survey the opening and may suggest multiple blinds where that gives a better result.
View the Roman blinds guide →100What is the difference between stacked and cascade folds?+
A stacked Roman blind gathers into neatly aligned panels for a cleaner silhouette. A cascade finish retains a softer waterfall effect with more visible depth. Fabric and blind proportions influence which option works best.
View the Roman blinds guide →101Are child-safe Roman blind systems available?+
Yes. We specify suitable operating systems and safety components in line with the relevant child-safety requirements. The appropriate system is confirmed as part of the quotation.
View the Roman blinds guide →102Can I choose a recycled fabric?+
We can check current fabrics containing recycled fibres and confirm the documented composition, blind-system suitability and lining options for your chosen fabric.
View the Roman blinds guide →103Where do I find my VELUX window code?+
Open the roof window and look for the data plate, usually on the top edge of the sash. Send us a clear photograph showing the complete code.
View the VELUX blinds guide →104Can I buy a VELUX blind online?+
Our online shop is not open for orders at the moment. Contact our team with the full VELUX window code so we can check compatible blinds, confirm the quotation and discuss supply or fitting.
View the VELUX blinds guide →105Which blind is best for a bedroom?+
A blackout roller is the classic choice. A blackout energy pleated blind adds insulating performance, while a Duo blind gives separate translucent and blackout layers.
View the VELUX blinds guide →106What is the difference between solar and electric?+
Solar blinds use daylight to power remote operation and usually avoid new wiring. Electric blinds suit compatible powered VELUX installations. We confirm the correct option before ordering.
View the VELUX blinds guide →107Can you reduce heat through a roof window?+
Yes. Exterior anti-heat blinds and shutters stop solar heat before it reaches the glazing. The right option depends on the daylight, blackout and weather protection you want.
View the VELUX blinds guide →108Which Venetian blind material is most popular?+
Faux wood is our most popular Venetian range. It gives a convincing painted or wood-grain look, is easy to maintain and is more suitable than natural timber for kitchens, bathrooms and other moisture-prone rooms.
View the Venetian blinds guide →109Can I see all the Venetian blind colours online?+
Yes. The finish explorer on this page shows the supplied faux-wood and natural-wood finishes as both a selectable colour and a complete blind. Screens reproduce colour differently, so the final choice should still be confirmed against a current physical sample.
View the Venetian blinds guide →110What is the difference between 35mm and 50mm slats?+
A 35mm slat creates a finer, more detailed rhythm. A 50mm slat feels calmer and can reveal more of the view when tilted open. We consider the scale and depth of the window before recommending one.
View the Venetian blinds guide →111Can faux-wood Venetian blinds be fitted in bathrooms?+
Faux wood is moisture resistant and generally the better timber-look choice for bathrooms, kitchens and wetrooms. The room should still be well ventilated, and we will assess the window and likely moisture exposure before confirming suitability.
View the Venetian blinds guide →112Can natural-wood Venetian blinds be fitted in bathrooms?+
Natural timber is not normally recommended for high-moisture bathrooms or wetrooms because changing humidity can affect the material. Faux wood or aluminium is generally the safer choice in those rooms.
View the Venetian blinds guide →113Do Venetian blinds provide blackout?+
No. Closing the slats reduces light and improves privacy, but light can remain around the blind, through cord routes and between slats. For stronger room darkening, we can compare blackout rollers, cellular blinds or layered treatments.
View the Venetian blinds guide →114Can Venetian blinds be motorised?+
Selected faux-wood blinds can be motorised for tilt. Natural-wood ranges have selected tilt-only and tilt-and-lift systems. Availability depends on blind size, slat choice, tapes, power supply and the required control system.
View the Venetian blinds guide →115Are decorative tapes available?+
Yes. The supplied wood and faux-wood collections include 24 tape colours across herringbone and flatweave styles. Width and compatibility depend on the selected slat size and material.
View the Venetian blinds guide →116Are vertical blinds good for patio doors?+
Yes. Their ability to cover wide spans, tilt for light and draw aside for access makes them a practical option for many patio and sliding doors.
View the Vertical blinds guide →117Can individual louvres be replaced?+
Often they can. We carry a wide range of parts and can assess damaged louvres at our Baldoyle showroom, although an exact match depends on the age and availability of the fabric.
View the Vertical blinds guide →118Do vertical blinds provide blackout?+
Blockout louvres reduce light strongly, but gaps between louvres and around the edges mean a vertical blind is not normally a total-blackout system.
View the Vertical blinds guide →119How are vertical blinds cleaned?+
Care depends on the louvre material. Many fabrics can be lightly vacuumed or dusted, while suitable PVC louvres can be wiped. We provide guidance for the selected range.
View the Vertical blinds guide →120Can vertical blinds cover very wide glazing?+
They are particularly well suited to wider openings. We will survey the span, fixing surface and preferred stack position before confirming the track specification.
